Boycott Help

Boycott Targets

Credible sources suggest that these brands help Israel in the killing of Palestinians, and the destruction of peoples and nature in many other countries. You may not be able to boycott all of them totally. For instance, I say ‘boycott Google’ but share this on a google hosted blog. This is not ‘ironic’ or whatever else the haters would dismiss it as, but of necessity, at the moment. We give them as little of our money and support as we can. So just do your best. Every little bit adds up to a greater good.

The main companies to boycott are listed on the BDS website, here https://bdsmovement.net/Act-Now-Against-These-Companies-Profiting-From-Genocide

The graphic at the top of this article, which is lifted from their website, should help as a reference.

Below is my personal boycott list of companies that aid Israel and the misery it causes our world. Feel free to either PDF or screenshot the list below, or refer to this article whenever you need to (I'll update it with any new findings - please let me know of any new information that requires companies to be either taken off, or added to, the list, thanks).

Fast Food and Drinks

It’s easy to avoid all of these, just get in the habit of making a pack up and a flask to take out with you. Spring is coming and picnics are a great idea. Or find a place owned by a local person who seems decent.

In The Grocery Store

Avoid anything made by Danone, Nestle, Unilever, Proctor & Gamble, Coca Cola, Mars, Cadbury, Mondelez, Smuckers, Strauss, Hersheys, Pepsi Co.

Any fresh produce marked as having been grown in Israel. Also pay particular attention to dates. There's a useful page about dates here https://bdscoalition.ca/tag/medjoul-dates/

You might find the first few times you shop you buy some things you want to boycott but don’t worry, you’ll soon find a suitable replacement and get into the habit of buying that instead. It’ll take just a few grocery outings worth of effort to make your shopping more ethical. It’s worth it to you, I hope.

Two things that the majority of the food items on this list have in common…

1/ A proportion of the money you pay them goes towards killing Palestinians.

2/ They’re really bad for us and we shouldn’t be using them anyhow.

So even if you don’t care about killing others, care about yourself at least?

My attitude is, if you’re on the list, you ain’t getting into my shopping basket. Chances are you’ll be reduced to either making the processed stuff (like cookies) yourself, or buying the store’s own brand. The stores' own brand is probably made by one of those bigger companies anyhow, but at least you’re paying them less for it and since less money = less bombs, they'll have less money to kill kids with.

Colour Code - Dairy or Dairy Substitute, Chocolate, Cookies or Bars, Coffee or Hot Drinks, Soft or Cool Drinks, Water,  Ice Cream, Cleaning, Body Care.

The colour code is only here to help, it’s likely not exact as some brands produce several items which may have different names. Just go slow the first few times of shopping, check the brand name of each thing as you put it in your basket.
